Passive solar home is conceived to keep heat in and
cold out in winter...and the reverse in summer. Many fuel-saving features
are built into the design, including orientation options.
South-facing solarium with thermal walls and insulated
floors is the key to the passive solar design; these elements absorb
and store heat for night-time radiation. In summer, eave overhang
and shades provide desirable protection.
Central gallery provides good circulation. Family
room and kitchen flow together neatly.
Sleeping wing features three bedrooms and two baths.
Exterior walls are built of 2x4 or 2x6 studs. Options: partial basement
or slab.
